To wonder about the nature of love is to consider love in its origin, in its forms and in its activities.

What causes love? What makes love last?

Can there be different types of love?

Is it friendship or love that holds nations together?

Does friendship require equality and reciprocity?

Can we be friends with God?

We pursue these questions primarily within the boundaries of philosophy. This course will be structured as a seminar with students taking turns presenting analyses of the homework readings and posing discussion questions.
